- I have the Amiga version - I think they're the same - and when I
- lost my map I simply used the most detailed map of the carribean
- I could find in an ordinary mapbook. Works pretty well, apart from
- the fact that most of the cities don't exist anymore. Once you
- have a good idea as to where cities are, that'll be pretty ok.
- Strategies? Hmm, special knowledge of medicine gives you a longer
- carreer, wit and charm is good for getting information out of people
- and charming the ladies. I usually attack vessels/cities of all
- nationalities early in the game, that way I get a rank in all
- countries. After a while, I choose my favourite and start bashing
- those not in peace with that country. Kinda soldier of fortune thing. :)
- Works pretty well for me. Just don't stay at sea for too long, that
- way your men will get bored. When you've got lot's of money, divide up
- the plunder and start with a new expedition. Never repair ships, except
- maybe for the large & fast men of war - it's usually cheaper to just
- attack a fresh one and leave the damaged behind... :) Treasure maps
- are always worth their prices as well as maps to lost relatives. They
- give lots of money and points, as well as accepting missions from the
- king...
